This succulent is also known as "Chinese Jade." Compared to numerous types of greens and brightly colored succulents, this extremely dark plant really stands out. Its leaves are almost black and velvety, growing both narrow and long into pointed tips like a hedgehog in plant form.
It is suitable for rocky terrain like its native home in Southwest China. It grows up to 4" tall in a clumping form. Its flowers are small and white, standing out quite surprisingly against the leaves deep complexion.
