Crassula ovata ‘Hobbit’ variegated - Hobbit Jade
This devoted fan-base Crassula is a proud member of the "Tolkien Group" plants!
It earned the Hobbit name for tolerating low-light conditions brilliantly. If grown as an indoor plant, it will stay small and content, needing pruning akin to bonsai plants. Outdoors, it also loves terrain similar to its South African home: rocky, hillsides, full sun, and even very little to no rainfall. It is trumpet-shaped and will take on a tree like form when mature.
Just like the Gollum Jade variety, the Hobbit Jade leaves will curl in upon themselves and their tips turn bright red in direct sunlight. Jade plants can bloom in winter with impressive clusters of delicate white flowers.
