Rare Succulent Cuttings - random mix

$20.00$39.00

A random assortment of rare succulent cuttings. There will not be duplicates within the same set, however if you order more than one set there probably will be duplicates. The exact cuttings you get will depend on what I have available at the time, the photos are a good idea of the selection.

**What is a rare plant?**
There is no universal designation of rare or common plants. Generally plants are considered rare because they are slow growing and not widely available in garden centers. I will select cuttings for these mixes based on my personal judgement of rare succulents.

**Growing your cuttings**
If necessary, strip off a few bottom leaves from the stem of the cutting so it has a section of bare stem (but be careful not to break the stem). Then, stick the stem into some soil. Let the soil dry out between waterings. Cuttings root faster if the dry period is shorter, so keep an eye on them. If you want to check on the roots, don’t pull your plant out of the soil! This disturbs any roots that have formed. Instead, gently tug on your plant and see if it is being held in or not. These are slow growing plants and they can take weeks to root. Be patient! As long as it isn’t dead it will probably still grow roots.

I have selected cuttings that root easily, however I cannot guarantee that yours will grow. Buy at your own risk! That said, I expect a very high success rate with these. Good luck!

Soil
Use a very well draining soil mix. Store bought cactus and succulent mix often retains too much water. You can add gritty materials like pumice, lava rock, or perlite to loosen it up and improve drainage. Your mix should be at least half gritty ingredients. Use a pot with drain holes so the soil can dry out.

Water
Soak your plants thoroughly, then let them dry out completely before watering again. Frequency will depend on your climate. Check for dryness by sticking your finger into the top of the soil, or looking into the drain holes at the bottom of the pot.

Bare Root Shipping
Most of our plants ship bare root to save on shipping cost. This means the plant will not include a pot or soil. Some plants are shipped in the pot to avoid damage.
