Big flat wavy leaves that remind me of lettuce. Very unusual adromischus.
Care
Adromischus are fairly easy plants that generally grow slowly and stay compact, so its easy to have a big collection in a small space. Plant them in well draining soil and water them after they dry out. They like lots of sun, and develop their best colors if they have enough. Some types develop a thick base known as a caudex as they age. All can be propagated easily from the leaves, just stick the end that was attached to the stem into soil and wait. It can take quite a long time, but eventually little leaves will pop up and you will have a new plant. They grow long, sometimes twisty flower stems with tiny flowers.
Size
2″ pot
Soil
Use a very well draining soil mix. Store bought cactus and succulent mix often retains too much water. You can add gritty materials like pumice, lava rock, or perlite to loosen it up and improve drainage. Your mix should be at least half gritty ingredients. Use a pot with drain holes so the soil can dry out.
Water
Soak your plants thoroughly, then let them dry out completely before watering again. Frequency will depend on your climate. Check for dryness by sticking your finger into the top of the soil, or looking into the drain holes at the bottom of the pot.
Bare Root Shipping
Most of our plants ship bare root to save on shipping cost. This means the plant will not include a pot or soil. Some plants are shipped in the pot to avoid damage.
